The VIP Boundary Hose, is a new, effective and tested product.

The reasons why the VIP Boundary Hose has been developed are as follows:

The product was developed to make the job of cleaning deck areas more effective. Basically meaning getting the cleaning water from water hose/jet washer directly into the drain. Efficiency and time saving is optimised with using the Boundary Hose system. (To clean deck areas takes a relatively long time, due to the various designs of deck areas on oil platforms.) VIP wanted to reduce the time used to clean deck areas without lowering the quality of the cleaning process.



The design of deck areas on an oil platform are normally provided with few drains, and where the few drains are placed are normally at the highest point on the deck due to the construction design criteria.

It is sometimes very difficult to wash and clean deck areas and at the same time get rid of the slops.

The cleaning water does not go directly into the drain due to the small size of the drain compared to that of the deck area, most of the cleaning water goes past the drain and you have to flush back and forth several times before all the cleaning water has gone into the drain. It is normally required offshore to have 2-3 persons to clean a deck area, one with the jet washer/water hose and the others using the swaber to swab the cleaning water into the drain.

By using the VIP Boundary Hose the time taken to clean a deck area will be reduced significantly. The produced slops will also be reduced due to shorter washing/cleaning time.

By using the VIP Boundary Hose on floaters, the efficiency is even higher then on a fixed oil platform. The VIP Boundary Hose will have to be positioned so that the rig movement alone does the work and guide/lead the water directly into the drain.

It will also create a better work environment for the cleaners and also much easier for them to clean deck areas and increase the standard on the cleaning work. The man hours saved by using the VIP Boundary Hose in cleaning deck areas can be used for other operations on the rig.
